"The Secret" and the Science of Getting Rich - by Jason

secretDVD_front

Have you heard of the DVD called "the Secret"? Well it isn’t such a secret anymore. The DVD was released in March 2006 and according to Time Magazine, the DVD has sold 500,000 units within the first 6 months. Today it sells well over 5,000 copies a day! It ranked in Amazon’s Top-5 sellers during Christmas week; and a tie-in hardcover book just entered the Top 10 on the New York times bestseller list.

The amazing thing about "the Secret" is that you won’t find it in your local Blockbuster or Barnes and Noble, it is selling briskly through new-age bookstores, New Thought churches like Unity and AGape and the official website at www.thesecret.tv. "It’s become the biggest selling item in the 30-year history of our store," says Harmony Rose Allor, a buyer at West Hollywood’s popular metaphysical bookshop, The Bodhi Tree. it is "word-of-mouth" marketing at it best.

So what is the secret to "the Secret’s" success? It’s is a "transformational movie", where a person’s view on life and the laws of life will no longer be the same after watching this movie. In a sense, it has created the same kind of effect as "the Da Vinci Code" and the 2004 hit cult movie "What the Bleep Do We Know". The movie has created such waves that it has already been featured on the Oprah Winfrey Show, Larry King Live and the Ellen DeGeneres show.

At the core of the movie is a central philosophy called "the Law of Attraction". In fact, the movie itself was inspired by this very same law when the producer read a book called "the Science of Getting Rich" by Wallace D. Wattles. This books was written in 1910!

This philosophy states that we create our reality, both good and bad! The message is delivered through 24 "teachers" which include prosperity preachers, chiropractic healers, relationship gurus, life coaches and motivational speakers — into one clear, cohesive voice. The movie is a "must watch" for anyone interested in taking charge of their life and in creating the life of their dreams.

Following on the success of the Secret, 3 of the core teachers - namely Bob Proctor, Jack Canfield and Michael Beckwith have collaborated to produce a wealth building program called "the Secret Science of Getting Rich Seminar". This program is based on the book that inspired the movie and is set to make history as the fastest selling personal development program in history.

What is the Science of Getting Rich about? Well in the words of Wallace D. Wattles, "The ownership of money and property comes as a result of doing things in a certain way. Those who do things in this certain way, whether on purpose or accidentally, get rich. Those who do not do things in this certain way, no matter how hard they work or how able they are, remain poor. It is a natural law that like causes always produce like effects. Therefore, any man or woman who learns to do things in this certain way will infallibly get rich." The Secret Science of Getting Rich is all about teaching how to do things in this "certain" way to create wealth.

The success of this program is built on several rock solid foundations. These factors include: the phenomenal success of "the Secret", the timeless concepts from the Science of Getting Rich by Wallace D. Wattles, the credibility of 3 of the most successful personal improvement teachers and New Thought leaders of our time, and the Internet as the distribution medium.

Coming Soon

In Aid of Johor flood Victims.

January 22nd, 2007 by swafeye

How it got started?

6 Steps Life Stories (1)

ASK and it shall be given

Monday 22nd Jan 2007, Yeah I got back from Penang after helping Philip Lim whom some of you know. He was our MC for our 13th Jan 6 steps event and together with his partner Ms. Kam was excited to use one of the 6 steps idea to start a charity champaign. They took the idea on "ASK" by first looking for their coffee supplier if they wanted to help to raise fund and food for the Johor flood victims. This event was successfully done on Saturday 20th and 21th Jan 2007

On Monday, 15th Jan 2007, They approach their coffee supplier and share with them of their intention of the fund raising, but they did not get a YES answer immediately and on top of that they have to wait for a couple of day for their reply. Just like Dr. Peter Chew have said, make the decision first and and plan as you work on it. So Philip and Kam could not wait and went on to the next person that is the transporter as they needed that as part of the project. All this happen on Monday. Ms. Kam approach the brother to seek help on referring a transporter to them. They met up with the transporter and immediately the MD of the transporter responded to them by providing them a 20 or 40 footer long trailer plus a driver to send the food, mattresses, and electrical item to Johor Aid Center.

On the third day which was on Wednesday Philip called me if the EYE team could come over to help us as the organizer and we agreed even though it was a last minute thing.

During the 3 day process, Philip and Kam have to urgently get a place for the trailer to park and they found a open space so that people can buy stuff over and be loaded into the trailer but they need to seek permission from their respective town council and inform the police. Unfortunately they did not get any respond and both of them were stuck with the idea. Being persistent they finally figured out a better way and that was to use the Giant Hypermarket space, so they approach the Bayan Baru Giant. Were they rejected? Yes, they were. The management did not buy the idea. However they were quick and they started to use the experiential selling technique and paint a picture to the management on the benefits and the win win situation if they would allow them to have their trailer there and let them have the charity campaign run on their ground. Now people can buy all the product in their hypermarket and then instantly load them into the trailer. They bought the idea and finally Philip and Kam got the place.

So the next things was publicity and because they manage to get the trailer and the space, they approach star about their project  and instantly on Thursday the star paper arrange a press conference for them and it was publish on Friday Penang Star paper which I have enclosed some picture.

What happen to the coffee supplier then? Well they finally agree on Wednesday to sponsor 2 boxes of instant mix  coffee powder which was use to give the donor as a token of appreciation for their contribution. What I have learn from here is that because they could not make a fast decision they lost an opportunity to get them self advertise in the banner as part of publicity. (note: the publicity is not important but it is a learning lesson for us as when we make slow decision sometimes we will lost opportunities. Most of us are afraid to make mistake but only thru mistake we learn) Anyway it was never too late as since their coffee was given out to the public, I am sure the people will go back and make themselves a nice cup of hot coffee. That is publicity itself.

Well to sum up the story above, we manage to stock up Rice, Oil, Rice Cooker, Biscuits Noodles, Mattresses, Blanket, Pillow which are all new and we fill up almost more then half of the 40 footer long trailer with another total amount of RM 3800 donation in cash for us to buy whatever that is short.

What else did we benefit from this project, Well the EYE team got to stay in Equatorial Hotel (5 star) and we had 2 room for 2 night for free for being the organizer.

Well, "ASK" and you will get. This is the first lesson that Philip and Kam have learn on the power of asking. Did they benefit? Oh Yes they have benefited the most. They had build a strong network and relationship with a very successful transporter as our joint organizer, As for us the EYE team, we had the opportunity to meet their 3rd generation children which is now helping out in running the family business which was pass on by their grandparents. We had the opportunity to share the 6 steps program with them too and have encourage them and their parents to come and learn from our Sifu. I believe Philip will follow up with them closely for the March Event.

During the process of asking did Philip and Kam face any more rejection? Yes they did, some of their relatives and friends thinks they are crazy and it is going to be difficult to get people to donate within such a short period of time. They even ridicule them by saying that businessman cannot be trusted and no one will support it when it is organize by a group of business people. This people have all sort of weird ideas and conception about business people. Nevertheless Philip and Kam continue to pursue and kept asking and the more they ask the more donors they get.

Hope you enjoyed the story and learn something from it.

Until then, wishing you all the best.

Nourish your mind with good habits

October 16th, 2006 by swafeye

Don’t Just Yearn to be Successful-learn from the habits of successful people around the world.The_robot_mind_1

"I know I have many bad habits, I want to change but I’ve tried and failed." Does this sound familiar? Often we are aware that we have bad habits, but we simply do not have enough motivation to stop them. A habit is simply a behavior that we have performed so often that it becomes second nature and part of a comfort zone people have created for themselves.

Human beings are all creatures of habit and most of us have our share of good and  bad habits. Success or failure depends on your habbits. If your habits are encouraging, motivating, and empowering, you will live a very succcessful life. However, if your habits limit your performance, prevent you from achieving your goals and block all your potential, chances are you not living a fulfilling life.

Can people really change their habits? The Answer is, "No", you can only replace your habits. For example, if you have the habit of procrastination, replace it with a "do it now" habit. When you have a task to do, just do it now, don’t even wait for a second. Soon, you will discover that you hardly procrastinate.

What are the habits of successful people? Dr Napoleon Hill, the author of the famous book Think and Grow Rich, had spent 20 years of his life researching the philosophies of 504 most successful people in America. He compiled 17 success principles that all successful men applied in thier life.

Indeed, if you have been observing the succcessful people around you, you will discover that they all have applied some or all of the success princples that Dr Hill mentioned in his findings.

Since human being are slaves to habits, it makes logical sense that people should be slaves to good habits only.

How can you kick your bad habits?
First, you must be aware that your habits is a bad habit and is limiting your performance.

Second, ask yourself why you want this habit to be replaced. The more good reasons you can think of, the higher the chance of getting it replaced. Writting it down will force you to think and make a commitment.

Third, set a time frame to replace this habit. Most experts would advise a minimum of 21 days.

Fourth, start a new habit that will counter this bad habit.

Fifth, be very conscious of your new habit in the beginning. However, if you repeat the bad habit, tell yourself that you already have another habit to replace it.

Finally, enjoy your new habit and it will soon become part of you and the old habit will soon be forgotten.

How should you nourish your mind with good habits?

  • Each day, feed your mind with only positive thoughts. Your thoughts will soon define your character. Your mind is lika a garden, you reap what you sow. Your positive thoughts will soon harvest the results that you have planted. Remember, positive thoughts always energies your mind with the right energy to be the best.
  • Listen to your words. Every words that you say will have an impact on your life. If your words are always encouraging and motivating, your mind will start to prosper.
  • Be conscious of your actions. They determine whether you are achieving what you want.
  • Read a motivational book at least once a month or read a motivational quote at least once a day.
  • Listen to motivational tapes or inspiring songs while you are driving or taking public transport.
  • Exercise your mental muscle by visualizing your goals three times a day

It is your responsibility to nourish your mind with the right food (habits). No one else is responsible for your success.

Therefore all eye team members if you want to make a breakthrough by the end of this year you got to do something different and come out of your comfortzone. The above is one of the most important examples that you can reflect and put it into action in whatever you want to achieve. Most important, sleep early, have more rest and work your daily plan each day with full of energy. To change is to win. Change just one of your habits that may be limiting you. You may want to wake up early an extra hour or just call one additional person to do a presentation.

With these, I wish you all the best for the last quarter. Take Charge and See you at the Top.

What is the best job In The World? by Eric Hon, article source from myc news magazine November 2005 issue.

How do you define the best job in the world? Well first you have to set the key criteria that measure & defines what is "best" for everybody.

*Low stress *High compensation *Lots of autonomy (freedom) * Great hiring demand among many others. According to "USA Jobs Rated Almanac" by Les Krantz (Barricade Books, 2002)

Biologist

USA

It is rated the top because it is low stress, high compensation, lots of autonomy, and huge hiring demand.

  1. Now biologists are in demand and receiving greater respect from their employers due to the terrorist attacks and related anthrax and chemical weapons fears.
  2. The biggest impact such as the recent completion of the human genetic map, which has made bioengineering possible.
  3. Biologists developed genetically altered agriculture, which is changing the ways in which the world’s populations will eat.

According to US Department of Labor, top biologists earn up to USD250,000 per annum! Hey one of the few pre-requisites for CSIs is biology!

Malaysia

Agriculture has been made a Top Priority for Malaysia. Rightfully so as Food Production is becoming a key concern with the increasingly unpredictable weather & climate change.

Not to mention: *Bird Flu *Nipah Virus *Mad Cow etc.

Yes, we vote Biology for Malaysia too. Consider this only if you like Nature and love growing things.

Editor’s Note on Top Jobs not mentioned in the index

Some of the Top Rated Jobs that I’ve come across, that are not mentioned in the US research above are

Future/Derivatives/Bonds/Currency Trader

This is a High Risk, High Reward Job that offers the very select few the opportunity to turn thousands into millions. Some have the skills for this job, most don’t and they find out the hard way. As easy as it is to make millions, it is even easier to lose more. This job requires a good sound stable mind and very good balance in character. It also requires very sound judgment and intuition to understand world economic trends. Essentially it is a job which requires the trader to make money by leveraging on moving price trends.

Sales/Marketing

You can do very well in this job if you like talking to people and are very good in communicating ideas and needs to others. Most people look down on Sales Jobs offers but they make the mistake of realizing that the Best Income come with Sales - provided you sell something you believe in, something that you have a passion for. If not you will never convince others if you do not convince yourself first.

I personally know many Sales/Marketing Business Development Managers who do very well and are paid very well, up to around RM 96K per year for those aged around 30 odd. Then again they like what they sell.

___________________________________________________________________________

Actuarist

USA

According to www.beanactuary.org actuaries are experts in

  1. Evaluating the likelihood of future events
  2. Designing creative ways to reduce the likelihood of undesirable events
  3. Decreasing the impact of undesirable events that do occur

In layman’s terms, they are statisticians who compute insurance risks and premiums for insurance companies.

US Department of Labor indicated that Experienced Fellows earn USD150,000 to USD250,000 annually.

Malaysia

It may not be such a common job in Malaysia but its worth the money. But you should consider this only if you love Numbers and Statistics.

An Acturist is in demand anywhere in the world there is disaster or crisis. This will result in a great demand for insurers to correctly understand their risk exposure vs Premiums. However, other than Pirates (Maritime Insurance) Malaysia is relatively a safe country without much risks when compared with other places.

___________________________________________________________________________

Financial Planner

USA

The best job in 2000, financial planners now hold the number 3 spot.

According to US Department of Labor, financial planners

  1. Translate their knowledge of investments, tax laws, and insurance to recommend financial options to individuals in accordance with their short-term and long-term goals.
  2. Help Individuals and families pursue their financial goals by recommending life insurance, investment products and banking products and services.
  3. Is involved in survivor care - the well being of families in the event of accidents, permanent disability, critical illness, or death of a loved one and ensuring that personal and financial wishes are carried out.
  4. In a nutshell, they are in the business of helping people save money for a rainy day.

Financial planners are considered independent businessmen as they work for themselves and determine their own income. Established financial planners make over USD100,000 a year and renewal commissions last up to 6 years! Hey being a financial planner really pays well!

Malaysia

Insurance & Financial Planning go hand in hand in Malaysia. Most Financial Planners in Malaysia have to build their own base of clients from scratch.

The Meaning of Job Freedom by Eric Hon, article source from myc news magazine November 2005 issue.

We all dream of having a perfect job… (It’s just like having a perfect man or woman!) Not that it is non-existent but it’s gonna be like finding a needle in a haystack. C’est la vie right?

(Ed’s Notes: Nothing is every perfect, except to have what someone else is having)

Job Freedom is not having a job that gives you Tons of Cash for No Work! Job Freedom is a job that has a Clear & Strong Growth Path for your Future.

Anything worth having has to be fought hard for & worked hard for. If not everyone else would be doing it. The best job is not the easiest but the most Fun, Challenging one that CAN REWARD you in the future for the work you in Now.

Every Job will require you to work hard to succeed. Remember that if it is Easy, it won’t pay well - as Supply of Job Seekers would Exceed Demand. Easy Jobs are like Roadside Sweepers, Office Clerks and even Factory Workers, Anyone can do it, but prospects for growth are limited.

The Truth is that you spend up to 13 Years in School and up to 3 years or more in University. You learn enough to get a Job, earn some decent income, Buy some of the Things you Want, Get a Dating Partner, Get Married, Get Kids & still end up feeling Broke all the time!

Your Older Brother may get RM 2K with his 1st Job and still feel broke, while your Dad may earn RM 8K with his job and still feel the same! What’s the issue here?

But you probably know about the Teacher from secondary school who earned only RM 2K - like forever, who’s with 2 Homes in Ipoh and 2 Homes in Bandar Utama worth more than 2 million in Total.

They Teach you How to Get a Job… But they don’t teach you how to manage the Money you Earn!

*How Well you are Paid depends on how specialized your skills are…

Secret Tip >> The more Specialized (& Focused) your Skill, the More you are Paid!

example

Beckham in Football, Schumacher in F1, Top Business Consultants

The more General your skills, the less you are paid

example

A General Surgeon versus a Plastic Surgeon

Is Network Marketing The Perfect Business? by Robert Kiyosaki author of the best seller - Rich Dad, Poor Dad

The Network Marketing business is a way for the average guy, without much money to keep their daytime job, and really build an asset that sets them free.

For the average person, a Network Marketing business gives him a chance; it gives him to take control of their life.

The best thing about a Network Marketing company is that if you can stay strong, 5 to 10 years, you will become a completely different person. And I think most important thing is not how much money you make in Network Marketing, but it gives you back your control of your life, your choices and your dignity. And I think today, that is priceless.

There are too many people out there who are week and wimpy and they expect the government and their company to take care of them. I’d say it’s wake up time, if what I say sounds rude and tough to you, well I think that is kind of the world I see right now. Get tougher and smarter, that’s what I am recommending. I think that’s what Network Marketing offers to that many people that opportunity (financially) for themselves.

So why doesn’t everyone go out and  start their own Network Marketing business?

I think the subject we are talking about is fear. I have a coward inside of me, I know that person very well. This is the battle we all face. And I think often times, cowards ask other cowards, and they get talk out of it, or they go, ‘Why would you do that’, and they get bullied into being a coward.

A normal franchise cannot save you if you still do not have the mental and emotional toughness to withstand the world of business, so Network Marketing is really about franchises of the individual, but first it has got to make the individual strong.

Network Marketing levels the playing field… If you perform, you get paid. And if you do not perform, you do not get paid. And if you do not like that, than the business is not for you.

That is why I love about Network Marketing. It is not about your college degree, it is not the family you came from, your race, your attractiveness, or whatever the stuff that people do to discriminate. It is really about performance, money talks, the rest walks. So if you can’t stand that, then it is really not for you.

In the Network Marketing, they want you to get better. In the corporate world, they do not want you to get better. You get better, you threaten their job. So it is a completely different environment in Network Marketing.

If I have to do it again, I might have gone into Network Marketing, it makes more sense because the systems are in-built for you…

What To Wear When You Work From Home

What should you wear when you work from home?

If you work from home, you credibility is suspect. While more than 90% of the population worked from home prior to the industrial revolution, people who work from home today are viewed as less serious than their commuting counterparts. Even with the number of home-based businesses expanding at an incredible rate, the question of legitimacy still remains.

So how do you combat this bias? By always being professional. One of the easiest ways to convey this is by simply dressing the part.

Of all the home-based businesses I’ve dealt with in my life, most of the successful ones understand this basic concept. The ones who struggle or fail, don’t. It’s such a simple element-but one that can have a huge impact on your bottom line. And I mean huge.

So how should you dress when you work from home? It depends on two critical factors:

1. Your line of work.

2. Your customer contact.

If you work in a business with little or no customer contact, such as writing, assembling products, composing music, running a mail order business, etc., your primary concern should be comfort. Jeans, shorts, sweats, in drag–if no one sees you, you can pretty much dress as you please.

But the instant you come into contact with others, you influence their opinion of you. Even if you’re just dropping off or picking up something or you conduct all of your business at your front door, how you’re dressed can influence your bottom line. If you want your business to grow and prosper, you’ll dress to meet your customer’s expectations. If you want your business to remain small and expand at a snail’s pace, you can dress to please yourself.

Here are some basic guidelines:

o If you’re a professional, such as a lawyer, doctor, accountant, business consultant, financial planner, etc., you need to dress the same as your commuting counterparts dress in your community. Why? Because people expect professionals to dress professionally, whether they engage them at the local office park or at the big yellow house that faces the park.

o You and I both know that your skills don’t improve by simply putting on a suit jacket. But try to negotiate a big money deal wearing a t-shirt and jeans with your client in the room, and see how far you get. If the deal falls through, you’ll be blamed for your lack of professionalism. Why set yourself up like that? Dress like others in your profession dress-at least when you’re meeting with clients–and save yourself the headache.

o If you’re in a service-oriented business, like hairdressing, catering, tailoring, personal shopping, etc., dress in business casual. This includes long pants and collared shirt, if you’re a man, and a skirt, slacks, or dress, if you’re a woman. Business casual denotes the seriousness of the work environment yet offers you something comfortable to wear.

o If you’re in a labor-intensive business, like housekeeping, auto repair, yard maintenance, or handy man, consider wearing an easy-to-clean uniform. You could buy them at the local uniform supply company in your town, or you can create your own by simply pairing work pants (jeans, khakis) or shorts with a polo shirt or t-shirt. You could even add a logo to the shirt, if you like, and insist that everyone in your employ wear them. It’s an inexpensive way to add instant credibility.

So, do you still doubt the importance of dressing appropriately when you work from home? Stop for a moment and think of all the home-based businesses you’ve dealt with over the years. Who got your business more than once? Who sent you running in the other direction? Why? The biggest offenders on my list have two things in common: a filthy workspace, and a complete disregard for personal appearance. Is my criticism based solely on the fact that I’m an image consultant? No. It’s because as a home-based entrepreneur myself, I’ve always taken the time and effort to make my office and myself presentable before conducting business. At the very least, I expect others to do the same for me. So what should you wear when you work from home? Clothes that instantly convey your professionalism and establish your credibility. Your client is already leery of doing business with you–don’t give her another reason to go elsewhere. Dress appropriately!

The Market is Out There

To build your own business, you need to know how to sell, market and lead.

In The past few years, more and more people have explored starting their own businesses. Many are not aware of what is needed to help them kick-start a business and build it up.

Here are some essential tips to build your business;

Sales

This is a scary word to many people - they would rather not do sales, if they could help it, However, in business you just cannot avoid "sales". Business is all about selling a product or service. If entrepreneur cannot sell, he cannot expect his prospects to buy.

On top of that, he needs to sell his vision to his team. He also needs to sell his ideas to potential  investors, as well as to his suppliers, so that they can give him better credit terms.

You have to find out the needs of your prospect. Does your product or service meet their needs?

Many people fail in sales because they  are not willing to understand their prospects better, and hence, face rejection.

As an entrepreneur, you are selling everyday, so it is essential to acquire this skill.

Marketing

This is the favorite of all entrepreneurs, as marketing brings in business. Unfortunately, marketing can also  burn a big hole in your pocket, if you do know how to use it effectively.

Marketing is more that just giving out fliers at LRT stations, advertising in newspapers or sending out mass e-mail messages. These are all tactics of marketing.

What most entrepreneurs lack is the knowledge of marketing. Understanding what makes marketing work and how it works is more important than that tactic itself.

A simple rule of thumb: Ask yourself if you will respond to your own fliers or advertisements, You might save a lot of money and increase the success rate of your marketing tactics.

Leadership

This is a major factor contributing to the expansion of your business. As the leader of the team, you have to provide direction. Only when the whole team is moving in the same direction will your business start to grow.

And when your business expands, you need to have more people running it. You have to find out what your people need.

Money is not always the most important "carrot". Different people look for different incentives in life, so take the time to discover more about each member of your team and maximize his potential.

Entrepreneur in Everyone Image200

Most people tend to associate entrepreneurship with owning a business and making money. But there is more to it than that. Entrepreneurship cannot be defined as a pursuit of profit or justified only for the rate of return to investment, be it for the individual, corporation or the economy. Instead, entrepreneurship is about making decisions, usually at personal risk. It is not only about making money but can be applied to all human endeavors. It is a way of life, how to think positively even in the most negative environment, how to spot opportunities even in apparently unsolvable situations and how to appreciate the real meaning of profit and its impact on society and the environment.

"Entrepreneurship is certainly not a highway to heaven; it is not even a guarantee that you will be rich. However, by being creative and innovative, one can earn economic freedom, whether by going into business, or working in a business or other organizations,"
